Why cook with us

Recipes built for real kitchens

Every recipe here is kitchen-tested and written to be followed on a busy evening — no obscure ingredients, no guesswork, and no scrolling through a life story before you reach the method.

Ready when you are

Clear prep and cook times sit right at the top of every recipe, so you always know what you're getting into before you tie on your apron. Most weeknight dishes here land on the table in under 30 minutes.

Pantry-friendly

Built around ingredients you probably already have — pasta, eggs, tinned tomatoes, a few spices. When something less common shows up, we call out an easy swap right beside it.

Step by step

Numbered instructions written in plain language, plus a photo of the finished dish so you can cook with confidence and know exactly what success looks like.

Our story

A kitchen table, not a test kitchen

The Everyday Kitchen started as a shared recipe folder between friends who were tired of ten-minute videos and hundred-tab recipe pages.

We cook the way most people actually cook: after work, with a couple of pans, and with whatever happens to be in the fridge. That's the whole philosophy here. Every recipe on this blog has been made in a normal home kitchen — no industrial ovens, no ingredients you can only find in three shops across town — and rewritten until a friend could follow it without calling for help halfway through.

We publish two or three new recipes a week, usually a fast weeknight dinner, one bake for the weekend, and something to keep in your back pocket for when friends drop by. Each one gets tested at least twice, once by the person who wrote it and once by someone who has never seen it before, so the quantities, timings, and "cook until golden" cues actually hold up in your kitchen too.

Everything you read here is free and always will be. If a recipe becomes a regular in your rotation, that's the only thanks we're after. Grab an apron, pour something to drink, and let's make dinner feel easy again.

Home cook, two hungry teenagers

"I've never trusted a recipe blog with timings before — these are the first ones that were spot on. The salmon glaze thickened at exactly the minute they said."

"Made the tomato basil soup for a rainy Sunday and ended up doubling the batch for the freezer. Clear steps, no fuss, genuinely delicious."
